DESCRIPTION:
Sangamo Electric Co., Springfield, Ill., Circa 1928, An ingenious designed movement that uses jewel double-roller lever escapement from a 16 size Illinois pocket watch. The balance wheel is visible on the dial. An electric motor winds the movement in minute increments as needed and allowing the clock to run 30 hours if the electricity goes out. At the time the cycles per second had not been standardized and this clock still had to capacity to keep accurate time.
CONDITION:
mahogany veneered case in very clean condition in an original finish wigh some minor blemishes. Original silvered dial some minor tarnish. Hands are original. Original cord is starting to fray, and for safety should be replaced. Ht 9"
